Calpe is a sunny seaside resort on the Costa Blanca that has evolved from an old fishing settlement into a beautiful holiday destination. The town is characterized by the well-known cliff of Peñón de Ifach, the symbol of Calpe. Its familiar conical shape, the highest cliff in the Mediterranean, divides the coast of Calpe in two. This massive limestone formation is 332-meters-high and extends into the sea for more than 1 km, creating a unique geological phenomenon. Calpe’s picturesque streets and plazas invite you for a stroll. Afterward, you can relax in one of the many bars in the area, or enjoy some delicious seafood at the countless cheerful restaurants. Calpe has many beautiful sandy beaches, a long promenade, a variety of restaurants, great shopping possibilities and a beautiful yacht harbor. The immediate surroundings offer countless options for excursions such as sailing to Mallorca or visiting villages in the nearby mountains. In the neighboring town of Benidorm you will find a great variety of amusement parks such as Terra Mitica, Spain ’s first theme park. The Rock of Ifach is famous among climbers for its degree of difficulty, and can be climbed via different routes. In addition, in Calpe you can enjoy golf, tennis, boating, horseback riding, surfing and diving, among many other activities. Calpe ’s pleasant climate, far-stretching beaches, blue sea, and palm-lined promenades make it an ideal holiday destination in both winter and summer.
