Beausoleil is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department of southeastern France. It adjoins the Principality of Monaco. The main part of the town consists of handsome Belle Époque houses with ornate entrances. Interesting attractions include the Gustave Eiffel covered market, St Joseph's Sanctuary (a church with ornate stained-glass windows) and the Fontdivina Fountain and Bath House. It can be difficult to determine where Monaco starts and Beausoleil ends as the border meanders across streets and footpaths. Another attraction is the Stade Vanco, a well-appointed sports center. Places to visit: Monaco with its casino, exotic gardens, oceanographic museum, beaches, the Rocher (palace and cathedral), the Louis II stadium and the Grimaldi forum with its conventions and events; Nice, where you will find the Promenade des Anglais, the old town of Nice, the Château, a tramway and more; the charm and authenticity of the Riviera coast and the hinterland; Villefranche sur Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, Eze, Roquebrune Cap Martin, Menton, Sospel, Peille and Entrevaux. You can also visit Italy: Ventimiglia and its market are only a 20 minute drive, but also Marienland and Antibes.
