The ski area and resort of Saint Lary Soulain is situated at an altitude of 830 meters, in the Aure valley, 20 km from the Spanish border. It is surrounded by the highest peaks of the Pyrenees, the Pic Long (3194m) and the Néouvieille (3092m) and is an ideal base for snowshoeing and dog sledding or snowmobile trips. The ski resort of Saint-Lary lies at an altitude of 1700 to 2500 meters and has 55 slopes with a total length of 120 km: 7 green, 25 blue, 14 red and 9 black. Here you will find the longest slope in the Pyrenees, the " Mirabelle piste". You can go cross-country skiing as well as downhill skiing. Access to the snow and ski area is by cable car from Pic Lumière and the monorail from the village of Saint-Lary. Just 100 meters from the cable car, there is a "Skiset" shop where you can rent ski accessories or store your gear. There is also a ski school for beginners. The town center is only 150 meters away.
